Calling all budding Short Film-makers
On Sunday 25 July for the second year running there’s an all day series of events, screenings and networking for new filmmakers being provided by BAFTA and Rushes.Following last year’s inaugural event, BAFTA and Rushes are supporting young and upcoming film makers with a whole day of expert advice and information about how to realise their movie projects. Throughout the day there’ll be the chance to attend events, screenings and networking opportunities for new filmmakers.
This is a notoriously difficult industry to crack so budding film makers need as much help as they can get. This is why BAFTA and Rushes have planned a full day of activity where sessions only cost £5 for entry.
The kind of subjects being tackled on the day look at areas of How to Finance Your Film, How to Take your Film from Script to Budget as well as investigating at the opportunities of Brands on Film. Key film organizations will be hosting market tables where people can meet and exchange ideas with seasoned industry professionals.
This is the perfect opportunity for filmmakers to keep abreast of trends and developments in this rapidly evolving landscape, to meet brands, agencies, and film-as-marketing facilitators during a speed networking session.
In addition there’ll be a big screen premiere of short films made by the Open Cinema clients, who were mentored by professional filmmakers including Asif Kapadia, Penny Woolcock, Marc Evans and Kim Longinotto. A Q&A with the filmmakers and their mentors will follow the films.
